I recently bought a 1981 US yachts 305 sailboat. My question is about the halyard swivel on the roller furling. The halyard swivel on my boat is one solid piece and doesnt swivel by design. Its not jammed. The whole thing spins on the foil which will cause halyard wrap at the top of the forstay foil. Why is it like this? Am i missing something? Bc all the other roller furlings i see have a halyard swivel that swivel separately top and bottom which allows furling the headsail without the halyard wrap at the top. Anybody know what thats about?
