Find out what it was like for the Baker family to join us for a week of sailing experience – cruiser style. One of the family members was sold on the idea and the other wasn’t too sure. One family member had never been outside of the USA and as a whole, the family mainly spent vacations camping on the land.
What makes the Baker Family so amazing is that within three months of join us, and experiencing the liveaboard lifestyle, they managed to buy their own boat and now you’ll often find them anchored next to us!
Watch the following video to see what it was like for the Bakers. Perhaps you might want to join us on Britican and this will help you get an idea of what your Britican Experience might be like.

Apologies if you’ve covered this topic, but are there licensing requirements to take paying guests? Thanks.
Kim Brown says
Gene, it depends where you’re operating out of. For us, Simon has a Coastal Skippers RYA certificate, our boat is legally coded to take paying guests, we have insurance to cover our charters AND we also operate through a Limited company. There are some people around us that have none of that… Hope this answers your question? Kim

Hello Britican,
Hope you guys are doing well. Love all the great emails and videos I have been getting and don’t stop sending. Very interested in sailing although I never had a sail boat but am hopping one day on my own boat to leave Trinidad maybe on a short trips to Tobago, Grenada and Grenadines Etc..
Maybe one day either myself or my family could do a short trip with you all. How do you charge by the person or family per day?
If you ever reach to my island Trinidad please let me know I would love to meet your family in person and maybe take you guys around my island.
Best Regards,
Roger Wilson

Hey Roger! Nice to hear from you. We spent a couple of months in Trinidad last year. We don’t have plans to go south again (unless a hurricane is aimed at Grenada) but if we do we’d love to take you and your family out for a day sail. Big smiles, Kim

Hi, we just watched your video and want to learn more about joining you. We are a family of three with a 12 year old boy. We recently got bareboat certified and would like to gain more experience. Will you be in Grenada through winter? Would you be up helping us to continue our sailing education? What are you charging?
Cheers! Scott Abigail and Milo
Kim Brown says
Hey Scott…we got your pre-booking form. If Simon hasn’t called you already he will call soon! We’re getting quite a few pre-bookings. We’d love to meet you, Abigail and Milo 🙂 Smiles, Kim

Hey Guy, It depends what country your operating from and where in the world you are. It’s a rather gray area. Simon is a registered Captain, our boat is legally coded to take paying guests, we have insurance for chartering and we also have a limited company… Smiles, Kim
