It’s rather uncommon to find sailing cruisers talking about, or even partaking in, racing a sailboat. Most cruisers sail when the conditions are right and stay put when they’re not. They take their time. Sailing cruisers usually set their sails and then sit back and read a book, take a nap or simply gaze out to the open sea mesmerized by the beauty of the deep blue waters.
That is, of course, if there is no other boat around to race.
If there’s another boat out on the horizon, the race is on. In our latest video, Simon discusses why he likes to have friendly races with other boats (whether they know it or not).
