After a weather window opened, Captain Simon and five crew left Hampton, Virginia, and sailed to Bermuda. The reality of long passage sailing isn’t champagne and sunsets! The voyage took four days and started off with rough seas. Four of the crew were seasick but eventually recovered. Some were shocked at the size of the Atlantic Ocean swells. There’s nothing like seeing and feeling open ocean sailing firsthand!

What’s Next for the Crew on Britican?
Once in Bermuda, two crew got off and two more flew in to experience the five-day trip down to St Martin. Once again, Simon and a crew of five set off to rack up some miles, gain open ocean sailing experience, and absorb the sights, sounds, smells, and feel of sailing in the vast open ocean.
