For our latest life on our sailboat sailing channel update, we show you what it’s like to have a family member visit us for a week. What a blast we had. Even though the wind was too much to sail we found other adventures. And when we did get a break in the high winds, we made it to a deserted island in the Atlantic Ocean. Find out what it’s like to entertain family when being a liveaboard sailing cruiser in St Martin.

Life on our Sailboat – A Family Member Visits

A Break from our ‘Normal’

The great thing about having family visit is that we take a break from our ‘normal’ routine. That includes doing Britican Experience sailing charters, writing sailing guides, doing YouTube videos, and boat upkeep and maintenance. Life on our sailboat is fun no matter what we’re doing (most of the time), but when family comes we do more touristy things like watching the planes land on Maho Beach, visiting the tree course at Lottery Farm, and enjoying the French bakeries and restaurants.

With Covid, we’ve been separated from our family for so long. It was an absolute pleasure to have our nephew, Nate, come visit and see what we get up to. He’s the first family member to spend a week with us on the boat in years. What a blessing!

Catch up on our other Sailing Channel Update Videos

We have a playlist on YouTube that show’s all our videos about what we’ve been up to. They are ‘episode’ style videos that showcase what projects we’re working on, where in the world we’re sailing, what we get up to with our charter guests, boat life, and the interesting adventures we go on. Check out our playlist here and make sure to subscribe so you get notified of new videos: Sailing Britican YouTube Channel Updates

NEW FREEBIE – Learn How To Do A Boat Safety Audit…

…So you don’t sink, get demasted, or die!

When it comes to avoiding boat safety mistakes the most important thing you can do is define what boat safety is, make sure you understand how all your equipment/safety systems work, and create a manual that enables you to store and disseminate all your boat safety instructions, procedures, policies, maps, and checklists.

To get started on determining how safe your boating environment is, make sure to grab a copy of my FREE Boat Safety Audit.

This life on a sailbooat audit lists all the common boat safety equipment and enables you to check off what you have/don’t have. It also recommends servicing items that require maintenance in addition to listing potential procedures and policies that you might want to take on board your boat. Get the Boat Safety Audit here.
