A Spontaneous Sail to St Martin

Our plan was to hang out in Bequia, an island the makes up part of St Vincent and the Grenadines for a few weeks. But we got restless. We decided to plan a spontaneous sail to St Martin. We have friends in St Martin that we really wanted to see. After looking at the weather and checking out our passage planning software we discovered that we could make it all the way up to St Martin’s within 48 hours. That’s a two day non-stop passage passing 11 countries/islands.

At the timing of this video, it was hurricane season. Most people head south but for us we decided to pop up north for a couple of weeks. We, of course, watched the weather from St Martin and if anything started to form, we’d take a straight shot south.

Discover what it was like for us to travel north when everyone else is heading south…
